Overview of Different Brands of Watches

By William Reichwein

Thanks to advances in technology and culture, watches have become a classic way of expressing oneself. Also, due to the many kinds of watches, anyone can find a piece that they truly adore.

Today's watches are encrusted with a multitude of special gems to make them look better. Since many people cannot afford such things, there are also fake diamonds available which look just as good but lack authenticity.

The watch that you wear says something about your personality. You can show yourself as somewhat strong and bold, or quiet and elegant. For example, those with Rolex watches usually want to show some kind of power.

A brand that specifically is focused on boldness is Rado. It uses diamonds to create a scratch proof watch, and while this greatly increases the price, it is definitely worth it for a watch enthusiast.

Sieko watches are a reflection of the country it comes from - Japan. Technology and precision are its key unique selling points. TAG Heuer is the first watch that made its presence beyond the boundaries of earth and was worn by astronaut John Glenn. Launched in 1869, TAG Heuer is yet another Swiss brand which is won several awards.

Another type of watch with a strong focus on technology is known as Omega. It is essentially on the level of Rolex and is worn by the rich and famous. It has many similarities to Swatch, which is yet another prestigious brand with origins in Switzerland.

One of the most beautiful watch brands in the world is the designer watch business Cartier. The defining features of Cartier include a stunning cut and many diamonds. This kind of precision warrants a high price, but it is definitely worth it.

The price of watches are dependent on the quality of the watch and the history of the brand itself. Most of the watch brands that are the most expensive have histories of over one hundred years. Once you have taken all that time to build your brand awareness and prestige, you have a right to charge a lot.
