Secure Ideas For Ring Pillows

By Andrea McClure

The most important part of the wedding ceremony others than the part where you and the groom say "I do" is the part where you exchange rings. And the person entrusted with the important task of bringing you and the groom the rings is often the chubby little boy who is your ring bearer. Most likely the ring bearer won't be the more reliable ten years old and even then the chances of the rings getting lost is still high. So what is a bride to do? Well make sure to get good ring pillows. The idea is to get pillows that will securely hold your rings so that short of losing the pillow itself there is no way the rings can get lost. Here are some great tips and suggesting helping you find a great ring pillow.

First off there a many ways to deliver your rings. The most common is the ring pillow. So when choosing one make sure it has all the necessities; the proper shape of the cushion to keep the rings from sliding off and actual ties to keep the rings in place. I am personally in favor of wire ties because they are more secure and can be easily untied with little fuss when it is time for you and your groom to pick up your rings. However if you are a traditionalist ribbon is fine as well. Make sure that you find a pillow that is the most likely to prevent snafus. A wedding is notoriously disaster prone, so it is important that the ring pillow performs as advertised.

Second, take into account the age of the ring bearer. This is crucial. If it is a younger child, you want something easy for them to hold and that will hold the rings securely even with most jerky or hyperactive movements. It might seem like overkill but you will definitely prefer it to an incident that may not only throw you wedding into chaos or potentially hurt the ring bearer. If the boy is older than six years old then you can focus more on the look rather than the features.

Something to think about when choosing your pillow is the look. Will it match what you have planned for the ceremony? How will look in conjunction with the colors or style decorations that you chose? Traditionally the pillow is simply white, but you can find unique ideas or styles that add a special touch to the moment. Don't be afraid to use bold colors or designs. It will help draw the guests' attention to the pillow as it proceeds up the aisle towards you and the groom and add more flair to the moment.

Also try to think outside the box when choosing a cushion. It doesn't have to be in conventional styles or colors. Try different shapes or fabrics. Anything that strikes your fancy is a good place to start. The goal is to add unique touches to your wedding that will make it an original. A great place is to start is too look at traditional looks and see how you can improve on them or turn them on their head. A word of warning, whatever you decide to do in the end make sure it is something that is within the ability of your ring bearer to do.
