Fun Parts Of The Wedding-Planning Process

By Ava McKinnon

Everyone knows that planning a wedding can be a very stressful experience for all parties involved. At times, wedding planning can seem more like a burden rather than something that is exciting and a precious experience to be shared between you and your intended. While wedding planning is a stressful and time consuming process, not all of it is bad. There are many parts of the planning process that are fun for the bride and yes, the groom as well.

The excitement for the wedding planning process begins at the engagement and promptly ends when the bride realizes how much there really is to do and how little money she has to make her fairy tale Cinderella wedding come true. But that realization can turn into many fun and happy moments. One of the most fun parts of wedding planning for the bride is picking out the perfect dress. While this process can be stressful, for the most part it is extremely fun.

The bride gets to try on as many princess gowns as she wants while all her friends and family ooooh and aaaah about what she has picked. For a moment the whole world revolves around her and that can be very fun, especially for someone who likes the spotlight. The fun does not stop there however; the bride must then choose a veil, a tiara, shoes and many other accessories to coordinate her perfect look! Even the non girly girls enjoy this part! Likewise, it is fun for the bride to pick out the dresses the bridesmaids will be wearing.

Ok now for a part the groom loves; choosing the reception meal. Everyone knows that men love to eat so this is the part for them! Brides not too focus on the meal all that much because they are consumed with finding the perfect dress.

That leaves the menu to the men. They get to decide what delicious food they will get to eat and do not forget about the menu tasting. Men love food, especially when its free food and they did not have to cook it. Along the same lines is a planning item that both the bride and the groom enjoy and consider to be fun.

As I mentioned earlier, men love free food so what is better than cake tasting? Getting to sample all the flavors of cakes that many different bakeries have to offer is pure heaven. Every woman loves her sweets so cake tasting is on the top of a brides list of fun parts of wedding planning.

This next part I know is fun for the brides and depending on the type of groom your man is, he may enjoy this as well; registering. When it comes to women, we usually like to setup our homes with just the perfect dishes and hand towels to match so picking every little detail for your future home together is a favorite among many brides. There are also many grooms out there who want to play an integral part of this process.

Many grooms have ideas on how they want their house to look as well. This however, can cause some clashes and put stress on the couple so it may not all be fun and games but I can bet once the registering is over and the showers start, both parties will love all the presents from their registry.

While the bachelor and bachelorette parties are not traditionally part of the wedding planning process, it goes without saying that both the bride and the group love his part of the wedding process.

It is a chance for both the bride and the groom to go out with their friends and release some of the stress that has built up during the planning process. They get to cut loose and have a good time; definitely a fun part of any upcoming wedding.

As you can see, there are parts of the wedding planning process that are fun for both the bride and the groom together and separately. Wedding planning is not all about numbers, coordinating and ensuring that your mother and your mother-in-law are happy but they are also about having fun and enjoying the planning process as much as possible. Look forward to these parts and do not stress out!
